Middle Kids Announce 2024 Regional Australia Tour

Australian indie rock band Middle Kids have today (July 16) announced a 14-date regional tour on the east coast of Australia in support of their new album.

The Faith Crisis Pt 1 tour will kick off in NSW in September, starting in Rooty Hill on September 27, Newcastle on September 28, and Thirroul on October 4. They’ll have one show in Canberra on October 5, then back to NSW for a show in Albury on October 6.

Middle Kids will pop up to the Sunshine Coast on October 10 and then head down to Brunswick Heads on October 11 and the Gold Coast on October 12. They’ll then head down to Victoria for a three-show stint across Torquay (October 17), Meeniyan (October 18), and Ballarat (October 19).

Finishing up, the trio will play three shows in Far North Queensland, hitting Airlie Beach (November 1), Townsville (November 2), and Cairns (November 3).

The tour's pre-sale opens tomorrow for those who have signed up at 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, July 17. The general sale opens 24 hours later, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, via Handsome Tours.

Talking to The Music earlier this year, Middle Kids frontwoman Hannah Joy spoke on the challenges of balancing motherhood and touring.

“Like, I think that if you want to be a mum and a touring musician, there’s sacrifice and you can’t do it the way that you used to do it. But I will say that it is possible and you just have to find your way.

“Being a mum can be isolating, but also being a touring musician can be isolating – you’re away, and on the move, all the time – but I feel excited about keeping on trying to figure it out and then reaching out to other mums who are artists and trying to do that journey together; that’s been really encouraging.”
