The positive and powerful messages of Michael Franti & Spearhead will now enlighten audiences in Brisbane, with a Bluesfest sideshow at The Tivoli confirmed.

Franti and his band have already announced shows for Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne while they're here for the mega festival this April. The roots, funk, soul and reggae muso will also perform at West Coast Blues & Roots and Deni Blues & Roots during his visit.

Tickets for the new show, which will take place on Wednesday 23 April, go on sale this Friday 14 February at 9am.

Joining Franti and his crew will be genre and culture fusing outfit Nahko and Medicine For The People, another band whose message is as powerful as their music.
