Members Of Dirty Three & The Cairo Gang Unite For Aus Tour As The Double

It's time to double down!

Get ready, it's time to double down!

Members of seminal acts The Dirty Three and The Cairo Gang, Jim White and Emmett Kelly are taking their double act The Double on the road in celebration of their release, Dawn Of The Double.

The duo, who almost chalk up memberships in Xylouris White, Venom P. Stinger, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Ty Segall between them, will be touring through Melbourne, Ballarat and Sydney this October.

This is the first Australian tour for the group and is set to be a big one, with the LP drawing influence in from everyone from The Gories and The Velvet Underground, to Glenn Branca and Terry Riley, and even Bo Diddley.

Speaking of the record, Kelly says "What's happening is happening on its own. We are only a conduit for it and it's super surreal."

The Double will be bringing along Lambchop, Ausmuteants, Taipan Tiger Girls, feedtime and White Dog as supports throughout the tour.

Tickets are on sale now, check theGuide for more info.
