"I've shamelessly cast the net out amongst all of my friends, from football, music, the chefs."

Members from the bands Blur, Foo Fighters, The Who, Oasis, and New Order have donated signed guitars and gold discs to a charity auction in honour of Imelda Mounfield, the wife of The Stone Roses bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield, who was diagnosed with cancer.

Blur singer Damon Albarn has given an acoustic guitar with teeth marks and the handwritten message, "I chew here when writing."

Albarn also left a note that says, "Not in the best condition, but very well used for writing over the last 10 years, genuine working guitar, with love Damon Albarn 2022 x".

Mani's ex-Stone Roses bandmate John Squire gave the charity auction a Hofner guitar that he signed and painted with a Jackson Pollock-inspired design. The guitar is currently at the top of bids at more than £9,000 ($16,118.81 AUD).

Dave Grohl has offered his signed Fender Telecaster Deluxe guitar, signed by himself, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee. At the same time, Peter Hook, the bassist and co-founder of New Order and Joy Division, also donated an autographed bass guitar and The Who donated a Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

Liam Gallagher's gold disc for sales of his 2019 album Why Me? Why Not is also up for auction, as is his NME Award presented this year for "Music Moment Of The Year" in recognition of his concert for the NHS at London's O2 Arena, and an exclusive signed vinyl box set of C'mon You Know.

His estranged brother and Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher donated a framed and glazed set of six platinum discs for (What's The Story) Morning Glory? with his signature.

Coldplay have also participated in the charity auction by offering eight VIP tickets to "any Coldplay concert anywhere in the world". Arctic Monkeys donated a red Epiphone hollow-body bass guitar signed by band members Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley, and Matt Helders, as well as signatures from Liam Gallagher and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie.

"They saved my life with emergency surgery back in February 2021," Imelda Mounfield said about The Christie cancer hospital in Manchester and the Stockport NHS Charity. Mani added, "I've shamelessly cast the net out amongst all of my friends, from football, music, the chefs."

The Imelda & Mani Mounfield Fundraiser, organised by Adam Partridge Auctioneers, ends on 1 December.
