Naarm/Melbourne metalcore five-piece Blood On My Hands have returned with another batch of heavy-hitters, knocking it out of the park with their latest EP, Death Through Devotion.

First formed back in 2018, the group swiftly cut their teeth on the local hardcore scene before expertly asserting themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Their recorded debut arrived at the start of 2020, with all 15 minutes of Asphyxiation And Deceit serving as fine comfort for those stuck at home that year, though a bit of time passed before they made it back to our ears with Tears From The Dying, which arrived in 2023.

Now, after teasing their new era by way of last year's Echoes Of Remorse single, the group have shown us that the wait for new gear was worth it by way of their latest EP.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Black Lodge by Lewis Noke-Edwards, the five-track release is an explosive representation of a band whose sound was crystallised through influences of the classic mid-'00s metalcore sound, albeit filtered through an urgent, modern lens.

Describing their latest effort as the sound of “catharsis-in-motion,” the EP is one that Blood On My Hands sends out into the world for those who need it.

“This music is for us, not for you,” they explain. “This is hardcore, for the outcasts and not for the cool people. Champagne for our real friends and real pain for our sham friends.”

Alongside the release of their new EP, Blood On My Hands will also be hitting the road in September for a six-date release tour. Partnering with fellow Victorians Ends In Tragedy, they’ll kick things off in Adelaide on September 5th before playing dates in Melbourne, Nambour, Sydney, and Canberra.

In October, they’ll head down to Frankston for Singing Bird Studios’ Hardcore At The Bird festival alongside names such as Eight Count, Pro Team, No Way Out, Fever Shack, Threshold, and more. Tickets to all these shows are available now.
