Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Sola Rosa To Showcase At World Music Expo

Hollie Smith, Stephen Pigram, Damien Dempsey, The Cambodian Space Project also in first reveal

The first showcase artists of this year's Australasian Worldwide Music Expo have been announced, with the massive Melbourne Ska Orchestra taking prime position.

Affectionately known as AWME, 2013 will be the sixth year of the conference and it will see see 50 roots, reggae, folk and indigenous artists perform over four nights in Melbourne.

The first line-up boasts

Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Hollie Smith, Sola Rosa, Stephen Pigram, Damien Dempsey, The Cambodian Space Project, Dereb The Ambassador, Knox, The Orbweavers, Coloured Stone, The Putbacks with Emma Donovan, Grizzly Jim Lawrie, Impossible Odds, Whiri Tu Aka, Stan & The Earth Force, Slip On Stereo, Maya Kamaty and Tjupurru.

The conference's Director Simon Raynor said he believes, “This is an incredibly strong and diverse AWME line-up which solidifies our reputation as one of the leading music events on the annual.”

With the conference speakers to be announced, the late night AWME Festival Club will return this year, providing an opportunity to 'network' into the early hours of the morning.

Early bird tickets are now available for the event, which takes place from Tuesday 14 to Sunday 17 November across the Arts Centre Melbourne, The Hi-Fi, The Toff In Town, Ding Dong Lounge and the Lounge.
