Anyway to launch at Palace Theatre

A Melbourne dance promoter is hoping to break open the city's nightclub market with the re-introduction of the superclub formate with Anyway.
Launching later this month, Anyway will take place at the grand Palace Theatre and will aim to create an atmosphere similar to the super-clubs prominent during the '90s. The venue itself was a club previously when it was under the Metro banner
It is being run by Wet Noise Agency and Treehouse's Filippo Palermo, who told theMusic.com.au today that he feels an opportunity for a return to such a club in the market.
“Particularly in Melbourne, the market's pretty oversaturated, there isn't that much on offer outside the boutique clubs and smaller bars,” he said. “There hasn't been a super-club that comes in and dominates the market for a couple of years.”

Unable to confirm an exact capacity due to licensing, it will be a significant step up from Palermo's other 1,500/2,000 capacity parties and he expects clubbers to adopt the atmosphere of the larger room.
“I personally think that it will [be successful], especially with the older crowd, they haven't been exposed to a super-club in five or six years… The venue's great. It's the space more than anything else that gives it its character.”
The opening night will take place Saturday 22 June with Alison Wonderland, Acid Jacks, Boogs, Yasumo and others.
