Five stages, 30 acts, a whole day of Shir Madness.

For the first time, Melbourne will host a celebration of Jewish music at the inaugural Shir Madness Festival in a few weeks' time. Following the lead of Shir Madness Sydney that started in 2010, the festival features 30 acts across five stages, happening over ten hours around Classic Cinema, Kadimah Hall and Gordon St in Elsternwick.

Festival Directors Deborah Conway and Willy Zygier have curated a line-up that covers a vast range of genres, with acts such as Tal Ben Ari from Tel Aviv, Zusha, Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, George Dreyfus AM, Tinpan Orange, Simon Tedeschi, Rita Satch, Stiletto Sisters, Alma Mater, Little Wise, Honeysmack and more confirmed so far. The "Song of Songs" event will feature well-known Melbourne singers performing their favourite song by a Jewish composer.
