Melbourne Band The Playbook Announce East Coast Tour In Honour Of New Single

Fresh cut 'Reach' is out tomorrow, 30 June

More The Playbook More The Playbook

After several years of work and multiple EPs, Melburnian pop-punk quintet The Playbook are getting ready to unveil their debut full-length album, All I Am Is What You Left Behind, later this year, and they've just lifted the lid on the first taste with their fist-pumping new tune, Reach.

A high-energy anthem with gang vocal sing-alongs and bouncy riffs for days — and their first new work since 2015's self-titledthird extended player — Reach is a super-polished and innately welcoming jumping-on point for anyone who's missed the first five-and-a-bit years of this band's fervently DIY ascent.

That dedicated work ethic has ensured that the band has steadily built up a loyal live following over the years for their excellent live shows, their talent for which has steered them to support slots for international genre heavyweights such as Real Friends, The Story So Far and Man Overboard, not to mention their own headline shows around the country.

East-coast fans new and old will have the chance to get out and celebrate The Playbook's new single and impending album on a quick string of tour dates in honour of all their new material in late July and early August: the band will kick off with an 18+ outing in Sydney before opening the trip up to all ages for their shows at home in Melbourne and up old Brisbane way.

Reach is out now on iTunes and Spotify, and from tomorrow on Bandcamp (where you can hear the rest of the band's oeuvre to boot, right back to 2011's debut effort, All Jokes Aside). Give it a listen below.
