Say you’ll be there on your couch this weekend, because Spice Girl and electronic-meets-pop artist Melanie C is guest programming rage.

Melanie C’s curated playlist will showcase some of her favourite music videos by artists including Madonna, Billie Eilish, George Michael, RAYE, and more, plus clips promoting her new album, Sweat, which will be released this Friday (1 May). Maybe there’ll be a Spice Girls video or two?

“What I want, what I really, really want if for you to watch rage this weekend because Melanie C, aka Sporty Spice, is guest programming the show,” the rage team shared on social media today (29 April).

They continued, “It’s an honour to have such a legend on the red couch and, with a career spanning more than thirty years to draw from, you can expect a playlist that’s bound to Spice Up Your Life.

“She’ll be lining up her favourite music videos and telling stories from her early rave days, her time in one of the world’s biggest girl bands, and from her extensive solo career, including the clips that influenced her new record, Sweat, which is due out this Friday.”

Melanie C’s guest-programmed episode of rage airs this Saturday, 2 May, from 10:30 am. For the night owls, the episode plays again at 11 pm. You can tune in via ABC TV or stream on ABC iView.

Check out the video announcement of Melanie C’s guest programming rage this weekend below.

Melanie C’s episode of rage arrives as she will soon return to our screens as a judge on The Voice Australia alongside Australia’s own Kate Miller-Heidke, plus international stars, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Richard Marx, and multi-platinum hitmaker Ronan Keating.

Plus, she’s arriving on our shores again this November as she embarks on her Sweat World Tour.

Sweat marks her most euphoric and dancefloor-inspired collection to date, celebrating joy, movement and community while revisiting her early ‘90s rave days.

The album was recorded across London, Stockholm, and Los Angeles and combines every facet of Melanie C’s presence as a performer: a singer, pop star, athlete, DJ, and lifelong fan of dance music, into a cohesive body of art.

Melanie C said of the record, “Music gets me through tough moments - I’m proud to bring out a joyful record in a dark time.”

You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
