"Now for the first time, I really feel in control.”
Following a sold out national tour with a closing night at Sydney's magnificent Opera House, Meg Mac has today announced the release of her first album in over three years, Matter Of Time, which is set for release on the 16th of September.
Mac had recorded a previous third record that was set to arrive in 2020, but as personal and professional doubts around the record began, she scrapped the body of work two weeks before its intended launch and moved to the remote village of Burrawang in the NSW highlands.
"I wanted to just start again and do everything without compromise,” says Meg Mac on her contextual switch up that led to Matter Of Time.
She describes the creative process of the record as "how I’ve always wanted to do an album.
"…knowing when it’s not right, and having the confidence to say so and to take it in a different direction. Now for the first time, I really feel in control.”
Her new era is launched by spellbinding new single Letter, a melodic pop offering that showcases her lively vocals above a pensive piano led arrangement. While the single does suggest a creative renaissance for Mac, its qualities act as a testament to the immense songwriting talents that has seen her accumulate her passionate fan base over the last decade.
