Brace your childhoods, Adelaide musical lovers will finally get a taste of the magical beauty that is Matilda The Musical.
Co-artistic Directors of the Adelaide cabaret Festival Eddie Perfect and Ali McGregor announced the news on stage during the close of the Festival, highlighting Adelaide's long-running love-affair with the arts and musical theatre.
The nostalgia-inducing show is based on the beloved novel by children's author Roald Dahl and has seen enormous international success, featuring music and lyrics by Australia's own Tim Minchin. Matilda The Musical has already seen packed-out houses and fizzles of delight when it opened to rave reviews in Sydney last year.
The show will run before, during and after next year's Cabaret season, opening on May 20 in the Festival Theatre.
