Modern heavy metal maestros Mastodon have announced a short, but sure to be memorable Aussie tour.

The Atlanta four-piece will perform in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane at the end of March, for what will be the band's first headline tour of the country. Previously Mastodon have toured Aus for Soundwave, Big Day Out and a Slayer support slot.

Tickets for the shows will be available as of 9am on Thursday 11 December. Check out theGuide and The Music App for details.
