Marcia Hines is gearing up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her eleventh album, Discothèque, and mark the milestone independently.

Originally released in September 2006 via Liberation/Warner Music Australia, the album peaked at #6 on the ARIA Charts and stayed in the chart for over two months.

The pop, disco, and dance record features disco classics like You Should Be Dancing and I’m Coming Out, plus Stomp! featuring Deni Hines, I Can’t Stand the Rain, and more.

Discothèque is Marcia Hines’ most successful album. To celebrate the record, she’s unveiling new tracks and commemorating the 20th anniversary through her Midnight Records label, distributed by Community Music.

The 20th anniversary reissue features six additional tracks, including a new live recording of Never Knew Love Like This Before, previously unreleased remixes of You To Me Are Everything, Sgt Slick’s remix of I’ve Got the Music In Me, and more.

Never Knew Love Like This Before (2026 Remix) is the lead single from the Discothèque 20th Anniversary Edition; check it out below. The album's anniversary edition will be released on Friday, 30 October, and is available to pre-order here.

With Discothèque coming to Hines’ Midnight Records label, she continues bringing numerous albums and singles back to the fold.

At the time of publication, Discothèque, Life, Marcia Sings Tapestry, Love Sides, and Velvet (The Original Cast Recording) are part of Midnight Records, and negotiations are ongoing to add more releases.

Speaking on the career highlight album, Hines said, “I’ve always believed that great music never really gets old; it just finds a new way to make you feel something. When we made Discothèque twenty years ago, it was about joy, great songs and getting people on the dancefloor, and twenty years later those songs still do exactly that.

“I love that these new remixes give the music a new life without losing what made the songs special in the first place. Discothèque was about joy then, and it’s about joy now. So, let’s get back on the dancefloor.”

She continued, “I’ve been making records for a long time, and every album represents a different time in my life and a different part of my journey. I’ve always believed in moving forward and allowing the music to keep evolving, so there’s something really special about bringing these five albums together under Midnight Records, in partnership with Community Music.

“The music and the stories are still there, but now we have an opportunity to give the catalogue a new life and introduce it to new audiences along the way. Reinvention has always been important to me. You honour where you’ve been, but you keep moving forward. It feels really good to have these albums together under our own banner, and there’s plenty more to come.”

Community Music’s Dan Nascimento added, “We are honoured to be supporting Australia’s Queen of Pop and her label Midnight Records. Community Music exists to enhance artist independence, and to be able to collaborate and empower the independence of one of Australia’s most iconic, important and prolific recording artists and performers is something we’re incredibly grateful for.”
