Mantra Talks 'A Bunch Of Nonsense' On New LP

The MC takes us behind three more tracks from his soon to be released album.

More Mantra Mantra

Melbourne MC Mantra talks us through three more tracks from his new record Telling Scenes today, with the tracks Fighting, Perfect Crime and The Experiment all under the microscope this time around.

The song Fighting was produced by Rob Shaker and features violin and cello from Mei Lei Swan. It's one of the more mellow moments on the record that sees Mantra telling a story from two perspectives.

The Experiment is a unique track in that entire song was made using only the voices of Mantra and Tom Thum – nothing else. Mantra flew to Brisbane to work with beatboxer Tom Thum, spending hours in a boiling hot studio on a 40 degree day.

Finally, Perfect Crime was a chance for Mantra to hook up with US MC Louis Logic and gave him the opportunity to focus on “talking a bunch of nonsense” and “MCing for MCing's sake”.

Telling Scenes is out via Ten To Two Records next Friday 13 September.
