"I've been working on so much new music and I'm really happy to have a cool team backing it here and in the States."
Brisbane artist Mallrat appears to be having a mighty fine June, this month inking new local and international deals after one of her tracks was picked up by Google for a new campaign.
In promoting its new Google Pixel Phone, the tech giants have used the 18-year-old's song, For Real, in its advertisement.
"This Google thing is so cool!"Mallrat said.
"I wrote For Real on the school holidays, in my room, about my friends. Definitely didn't expect that it would reach so many people."

The international reach of Mallrat's music has been solidified with the recent announcement that she's signed a US deal with Nettwerk Music Group (Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear) and Australia's own Dew Process/UMA.
"I've been working on so much new music and I'm really happy to have a cool team backing it here and in the States," she said.
There's no slowing down for Mallrat this year either, who has gigs scheduled in for Splendour In The Grass and Listen Out, as well as a supporting slot on Allday's headline tour next month.
