Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' Hacker Receives Jail Sentence

Israeli hacker gets hefty punishment.

More Madonna Madonna

Israelii man, Adi Lederman has been sentenced to 14 months in prison after hacking and leaking unreleased recordings from what would  eventually feature on US pop Queen Madonna's most recent album, Rebel Heart.

Lederman hacked into Madonna's recordings back in December, which forced the singer to push the release date of her 13th studio album forward to March.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Lederman was given his sentence from the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Thursday as part of a plea bargain deal.

He was charged with computer trespassing, fraud and intellectual property offences against Madonna and was also fined just over $5000 Australian dollars.

The sentence is believed to be more lenient than it would usually be, in light of the fact that Lederman suffers from medical issues and the concern that a full trial trial could lead to further exposure of Madonna's personal details.

Meanwhile, the 56-year-old artist announced last month that she will be bringing her Rebel Heart show to Australia in March next year for a string of arena shows, in what will be Madonna's first trip Down Under in 23 years.
