Sabrina Carpenter shocked the audience at Coachella – and millions of viewers watching her Weekend Two headline set from home – when she brought Madonna on stage on Friday (17 April).

What should have been a celebratory moment as Madonna enters her Confessions II era, however, was tarnished after her “vintage” outfit – which she wore at the same festival 20 years earlier – went missing.

The Like a Prayer singer shared the news on her Instagram Stories, revealing that she’s offering a reward to anyone who finds the items.

“Still flying high since Friday night at Coachella! Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible. Bringing Confessions II back to where it began was such a thrill,” Madonna wrote.

She continued, “This full circle moment hit different until I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing- my costume that was pulled from my personal archives - jacket, corset, dress and all other garments.

“These aren’t just clothes; they are part of my history. Other archival items from the same era went missing as well.

“I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul, will find these items and reach out to my team at: [email protected]. I’m offering a reward for their safe return. Thank you with all My Heart.”

Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter made the most of their time on stage together. The pair performed Vogue, Bring Your Love – the live debut of the former’s new song – followed by Get Together and the timeless Like a Prayer.

While she was on stage, Madonna discussed her last appearance at Coachella and delved into astrology.

After her Coachella Weekend Two headline performance, Carpenter took to Instagram and reflected on the moments shared with Madonna.

“Coachella weekend 2 might take the damn cake,” she wrote.

“Madonna …..I’ve got something i wanna talk about! thank you for coming out, bringing your love, and gracing the audience with everything you are + astrology knowledge + the greatest songs of all time. Last night was straight out of a dream. spending so much time laughing with you and then above all sharing the stage with you is a privilege I’ll never forget.”

Madonna’s Confessions II - a sequel to her 2006 record, Confessions on a Dance Floor - will be released in July.

She summarised her upcoming release by quoting the first few lines of her song, One Step Away: “People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language.”
