Madonna made Kylie Minogue’s dream come true, bringing her on stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday (7 March) for the performance of a lifetime.

Minogue, wearing a Madonna shirt, was seen dancing and singing along at the concert earlier on before the Like A Virgin singer introduced her to the stage.

The two Queens of Pop took the history-making opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day by performing Gloria Gaynor’s empowering disco anthem, I Will Survive, and Kylie Minogue’s classic Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

“It’s a privilege for me to be up here, singing with you. You are a fighter, too; God bless you. Never give up; we never do,” Madonna said while holding Kylie’s hand.

After telling the audience she felt “amazing” on stage with her idol, Minogue added, “This moment has been a long, long, long, long time coming.”

Sharing footage of herself grooving to Madonna’s Ray Of Light, Minogue wrote about the experience on Instagram, “MADONNA. It’s been a long time coming!!! LOVED being with you!!!! Celebration Tour AND it is now International Women’s Day …. THANK YOU and LOVE LOVE LOVE.”

Last month, Madonna struck back at critics who levelled her with ageist comments in a video advert, advising them to “Count my achievements, not the number of years I have lived on this planet.”

Referencing her claim at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, she added, “I think the most controversial thing I have ever done is to stick around.”

She continued, “I have seen many stars appear and disappear like shooting stars. But my light will never fade. Not everyone is coming to the future. But I am. I’ll keep going today, tomorrow and the next 100 years.”

Kylie also won’t fade, with the singer recently honoured with her very own Barbie doll, receiving the Global Icon Award at this year’s BRIT Awards, and winning her second-ever Grammy Award (Best Pop Performance for Padam Padam). Plus, she collaborated with another pop music icon: Sia.
