"Fuck you fire, we are playing a rock and roll show anyway – you can’t stop the music!"
Off the back of a raucous Sydney show this week that we named perhaps the best show of 2016, Canadian Mac Demarco and a bunch of his ragtag mates have planned a mammoth Perth show in lieu of the cancelled Southbound Festival, due to WA's raging bushfires.
Said ragtag mates are actually King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Kirin J Callinan, GUM, Walter TV, Gunns and Andy Boan, with $10 from each $44+bf ticket heading straight to the Red Cross bushfire relief efforts.
The bands are eager to keep the party raging because "fuck you fire, we are playing a rock and roll show anyway – you can’t stop the music!"
They've organised the event for Metro City on Sunday, 10 January, running from 8pm to 1am. Head here to grab tickets — if it's anything like the show Demarco, Kirin J Callinan and GUM played on Wednesday night, you're in for a rockin' time.
