Former vocalist of Melbourne hardcore band Lovers Grave, Dillon Rivers has passed away just prior to Christmas.The band posted the news 23 December on their Facebook. It is believed Rivers passed Tuesday 20 December.The group released the following statement:“We are so thankful for the kind words expressed by each and every one of you about the very unfortunate passing of our dear friend Dillon Rivers” “Without him this band would have never made it to the where it is today. For those of you who have had the pleasure of seeing Dillon perform you would agree that his energetic performance as a frontman is second to none. We are lost for words and your support is greatly appreciated.”

 “Our thoughts go out to Dillon’s family and friends on his birthday today. Words can not express how sorry we are for your loss. Thank you to all the bands and people who have left a comment on the page to express their respect for his huge contribution to the band. We just ask that everyone be respectful when doing so, for his family and friends, thank you.”


The band were planning on announcing a new vocalist and releasing a new track on New Years’ Day.


“Hey guys, as many of you know, we were about to release a new track and the identity of our new singer on new years day. We will be postponing this in respect of our lost friend, ex-vocalist, Dillon Rivers. We are sure you guys will understand!”
