Live Music To Take Back Kings Cross

That's absolutely the plan.

Only weeks after it was confirmed that plans were underway to create an entertainment hub in the Sydney suburb of Sydenham, the once-booming Kings Cross precinct is set to get a massive overhaul with a similar initiative launching this month.

Bondi Beach Radio and popular Cross venue, The World Bar, are teaming up to boost the suburb's creative and music scene with The Eastside Hub — a precinct that aims to bring together communities who otherwise have no space or resources to collaborate.

"The Eastside hub creates prospect, by localising opportunity for young creatives and music professionals to collaborate," World Bar co-owner Steve Ward said.

"This new precinct will also play an instrumental role in keeping some of the old vestiges of Kings Cross alive. It’s really important to have an inner city music base."

Furthermore, to celebrate the collaborative project, Bondi Beach Radio have launched a new studio in Kings Cross, which officially went to air earlier this month.

"The Eastside Hub allows us to bring together a diverse group of resources that would otherwise have no space or ability to coordinate," Bondi Beach general manager Julien Lacey said.

"It’s going to allow us to be more creative, to do more and to be more organised. And it’s going to bring us closer to other people who are part of a very dynamic market and an important growth industry."

The Eastside Hub is now open to the community who are seeking a new creative and collaborative workspace.
