As a lot of you may know, Aussie rock stalwart Tex Perkins has been getting in touch with his inner primate lately with his latest project The Ape. The band's debut self-titled album is finally out today, but if you haven't had a chance to pick it up as yet, you can listen to it here on theMusic over the next few days.
One of our reviewers recently gave the collection the big thumbs up, saying it's another "kickarse Perkins record".
Perkins and his bandmates, who include Raul Sanchez (Magic Dirt), Gus Agars (The Dark Horses) and Pat Bourke are taking their new tunes out on the road this month, starting with a show at the Coolangatta Hotel tonight. Check out theGuide for the tour details.
