The feminist event hits Bella Union in just over a week
The feminist/activist LISTEN Conference is swiftly approaching, with organisers today revealing final speaker additions for this month's imminent event in Melbourne.
This year's 'Feminist Futures' event will benefit from the freshly announced inclusion of a keynote speech from New Zealand artist and emcee Coco Solid, who joins previously named key speakers Clementine Ford and Alok Vaid-Menon (DarkMatter USA) atop the bill.
Also newly added to the speakers' bill will be a range of panelists from across the creative industries including Namila Benson, Trixie Darko, Macquarie Fletcher, Geryon, Thanh Hang Pham, Kirsty Rivers, MzRizk and Lara Soulio.
Complementing the conversations to make your grey matter kick into gear, the conference will boast an array of live showcases from diverse and wonderful acts including Ouch My Face, The Pink Tiles, Wet Lips, Hi-Tec Emotions, Crystal Myth, Wahe, Bahdoesa, Netti, DJ Sovereign Trax & Brooke Powers, Alok Vaid-Menon, Dawn Iris, Astrid, Callan and Sarah Mary Chadwick.

It's an incredible spread of acts available for only $5 for conference ticket-holders, but even if you're not planning on heading to the panels the musical component is wholly affordable, still sliding in at under 20 bucks for showcase-only passes (tix are just $15).
LISTEN 2016: Feminist Futures will be held at Bella Union from 10-13 October, with the first evening of live music going down at The Curtin on the Friday night before setting up shop at BU. The conference component boasts Auslan interpreting, childcare services and disability access.
