Lil Nas X Arrested After Alleged Battery Of A Police Officer

Lil Nas X has been arrested and charged with battery of a police officer.

He was also hospitalised for a possible drug overdose on Thursday morning (21 August) when he was found walking the streets naked and allegedly charged at police officers in Los Angeles.

Following his arrest at 6:10 am and subsequent hospitalisation, Reuters notes that the Old Town Road rapper is being held in jail in Van Nuys, California, as of Thursday afternoon.

No further details about his condition were released, but after a few hours, Lil Nas X was released from the hospital and taken to jail.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said that officers responded to a call about a naked man on Ventura Boulevard just before 6 am and that Lil Nas X charged at officers when they arrived.

According to footage of the incident obtained by TMZ, Lil Nas X was only wearing underwear and cowboy boots and claimed that he was going to a party.

“He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a police officer,” police said (per NBC News).

Representatives for the rapper haven’t yet commented on the incident.

Lil Nas X is set to release a new album, Dreamboy, later this year. The rapper has already released singles from the LP, and over the last week, he shared snippets of new music on social media. On Instagram, Lil Nas X recently changed his handle to Queen Madeleine and shared numerous new images of himself.

In April, Lil Nas X was hospitalised after suffering sudden facial paralysis on the right side of his face. While no cause for his facial paralysis was given, the rapper told fans a few days later that he could move his face again.

At the time, Lil Nas X assured worried fans that he was “okay” and to “stop being sad” for him and to “shake your ass for me instead.” He added, “Imma look funny for a lil bit, but that’s it.”
