Liam Gallagher's show in Melbourne last night was cut short due to a sound curfew.

The Oasis frontman's microphone was cut off during the final song of his set at Margaret Court Arena and Gallagher didn't hold back on Twitter following the show.

"Well that was a load of wank getting cut off last song we weren’t that bad I’ve heard worse any ways," Gallagher tweeted.

Gallagher claimed that he would have been hit with a $250,000 fine if he played past the curfew.

"... those tunes are biblical and I’m the fucking biblical brother but c’mon that’s a fucking piss take who ever made that rule needs to stop smoking SPICE," he said.

Margaret Court Arena responded to The Music today claiming that "the decision to conclude the show at 11pm while the artist was still on stage was made by tour management".

"We are working closely with the promoter, Secret Sounds, and tour management to understand what led to this decision."

The Music reviewer Madison Thomas noted that Gallagher's microphone was cut off at 11pm on the dot

"Gallagher and band look at each other in surprise, before Gallagher attempts to sing (or speak) into his muted microphone," Thomas wrote.

"He leaves the stage with a shrug, and one cannot help but feel that someone backstage is in for a verbal bollocking."
