“Like, fuck off… Unless they come around to your house and say you’re canceled, you’re still going to do your fucking thing. They don’t speak for everyone, do they?”

More Liam Gallagher More Liam Gallagher

On a recent appearance on The 2 Johnnies Podcast former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has begun a war on cancel culture.

Never far from the headlines, the Splendour In The Grass-bound Gallagher let his thoughts on contemporary politics in the digital age known very clearly, with a range of hot headed comments on how social media networks respond to bad behaviour.

“Who the fuck are these people canceling you, anyway?” Gallagher said.

“Like, fuck off… Unless they come around to your house and say you’re canceled, you’re still going to do your fucking thing. They don’t speak for everyone, do they?”

He continues, “The canceling people just speak for the people from the cancel world. They don’t fucking speak for everyone… You can still go on and do your gig, there’s people out there who are going to like what you’ve got to say. So, bring it fucking on, you fucking squares!”

Luckily, the tirade ended there, using the majority of the podcast to promote his forthcoming solo album, C'MON YOU KNOW, which is set for release on the 27th of May. He's already well on the promotion run for it, having teased singles Better Days, the Dave Grohl featuring Everything's Electric as well as the album's title track.

In the podcast, he describes how he still adores the songwriting process and being an out and out rockstar. He states, “It’s the best gig in the world, and I'm not good at anything else, so that's what I do."
