Legendary Aus Vocalist Glenn Shorrock Signs Deal With Social Family Records

Set to release a brand new album this September, legendary Australian songwriter Glenn Shorrock is celebrating the news with the announcement of a solo deal with independent label Social Family Records.

A long time fan of Shorrock, who was a founding member of The Twilights and Little River Band, SFR and Golden Robot Entertainment’s President Mark Alexander-Erber said the signing was an easy decision.

"Signing Glenn Shorrock to Social Family Records was a no brainer for me," Alexander-Erber said.

"I’m very excited to have one of my all time favourites on board."

The English-born artist will drop his new LP, Rise Again, on 9 September, with pre-orders available from next month.

"It’s been awhile, due in part to my infamous ‘writers block’ period, but welcome to my latest musical offering," Shorrock said. 

"This new album is made up largely of compositions written by myself and a few of my colleagues, old and new. It began as an EP, but grew with a little help from my friends, who all have different personalities – and the songs do too!"

Meanwhile Social Family Records have today also announced the signing of Gold Coast artist Casey Barnes, who is also set to drop his new album, Live As One, on 26 August.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to be signing on with Social Family Records...one of the most exciting labels in the country with a strong roster of artists and their finger well and truly on the pulse with where the music industry is headed," Barnes said. 

"With a brand new album coming out the timing couldn't be more perfect and I can't wait for everyone to hear what I think is my best release yet!"
