It was a case of second time lucky for the Adelaide DJ.
At Sydney's Ivy last night, ten of the country's finest female DJs went head to head in a battle that would determine who would be the winner of EMI's She Can DJ competition in its second year.
While competition was fierce, no one was as adept at sending the dancefloor nuts as Adelaide's Leah Mencell, whose brand of party-ready dubstep and hip hop jams had the place going bananas. Mencell was the only DJ in the Top 10 who had been through it all before, she was a finalist in the inaugural competition last year which was won by MINX who hosted the night alongside dance music identity Grant Smillie and used the opportunity to launch her new single Night To Remember.
Also performing on the night was 2011 runner up Alison Wonderland who has come ahead in leaps and bounds in the past 12 months, setting the party vibe up perfectly before the contestants showed what they had to offer in front of a crowd packed to the brim with Sydney's elite as well as music industry professionals and media hangers-on (i.e. us).
