I have full respect for dancers. I appreciate the world of dance, just as much as I appreciate the world of music and when those two world's collide, I kind of go nuts. Now I'm not talking about back-up dancers that are behind the cheesy pop-star that twelve-year-olds would die for, I'm talking professional dancers who risk every bone in their body to look graceful.
Rapper LE1F knows what I mean as he studied ballet and modern dance in his native Manhattan.
The ever-so-talented performer has just announced that he is bringing his Tree House Party Tour down here to Australia, and with his creative background, I can't imagine what he's got in store for us. This will be the third trip that LE1F has made down to Australia and it will include performances at Meredith Music Festival, Subsonic Music Festival and shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
If you're not yet familiar with any of LE1F's work, I can assure you it's somewhat brilliant. The Fader claimed that his first mixtape, Dark York, "doesn't just evoke sex - it is sex", and aren't too far off the mark. It was a sultry mixtape and his work has only gotten better since then.
Joining LE1F on his Tree House Party Tour is his travelling DJ MESS KID, who is a pretty awesome DJ himself. The man grew up with KRAFTWERK instead of the BACKSTREET BOYS, and began sneaking into clubs when he was younger only to become one of the most recognised DJs in the United States.
