The ascendant British chanteuse will play her first headline shows Down Under in just a few months

Rising UK singer-songwriter Låpsley will play two headline shows — her first such performances in Australia — when she touches down for this July's sold-out Splendour In The Grass festival.

The Falling Short scribe's shows will follow her eagerly awaited appearance at the event, bringing her delectable electronica jams to Melbourne's Howler on Tuesday 26 July before heading back Sydney-way to hit the Oxford Art Factory on Wednesday 27 July.

The young electro-chanteuse has had a remarkable entry into the mainstream, leveraging her adept debut EP Monday to carry her through to an XL Recordings-backed release for her lauded debut full-length Long Way Home.

From there, she's worked her way onto the airwaves on the back of high-rotation cuts such as Cliff and Operator, with new singles Falling Short and Hurt Me — as well as appearances at globally renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and now Splendour — solidifying Låpsley's place among the ranks of world-beating young people making everyone else feel terrible about how they've squandered their lives.
