Kylie Minogue ProfileMusicians Kylie Minogue and Olivia Newton-John, and Bakehouse Studios co-founders Helen Marcou and Ian "Quincy" McLean are amongst those named on the Australia Day Honours List for 2019.
A total of 1,127 awards were handed out as part of the Honours, which included a number of music and entertainment professionals.
Minogue has been named Officer (AO) in the General Division for "distinguished service to the performing arts as a national and international recording artist and entertainer".
Newton-John was awarded Companion (AC) in the General Division for "eminent service to community health, particularly for people living with cancer, through support for medical research, and as a songwriter and performer." She received an OBE in 1979.
Marcou and McLean were both announced as Member (AM) in the General Division for "significant service to music, particularly as a promoter and advocate for live performance," including their work with SLAM and other Victorian music initiatives.
All four members of pop group Human Nature were honoured with Medal (OAM) in the General Division, while Sherbet's Garth Porter was named as Member (AM) in the General Division, as was Tiddas and Black Arm Band's Dr Cindy "Lou" Bennett for her "significant service to the performing arts, particularly to music, and to the Indigenous community".
Universal Music Group's Classics & Jazz General Manager Cyrus Meher-Homji was honoured for his service to the performing arts.
