KuckaThe world-travelling Red Bull Music Academy event will be heading to France this year for its 17th edition and two popular Aussie acts have been announced to join the extensive list of musicians from around the world on the trip.
61 musicians from 37 different countries, including Perth-based singer Kučka and Melbourne electro-indie artist DXHeaven will fly to Paris in October to take part in workshops, lectures and studio sessions with respected mentors, as well as being given the opportunity to perform at a few of the French capital's most popular venues.
Having taken the Red Bull event across the world to cities such as Tokyo, New York and London in recent times, Paris was picked this time around in honour of some of its iconic acts to have emerged from there including Daft Punk and Mr Oizo, so it comes as no shock as to why Kučka and DXHeaven have been nominated.
Last year, Kučka landed the #1 spot for Most Played Song on triple j Unearthed with her electro track Unconditional and earlier this year scooped up three awards at the Western Australia Music Awards, including Best Electronic Song, while DXHeaven is renowned for his use of old school synth sounds and beats.
The event takes place from October 25-November 27 and artists will commence the workshops in Paris' La Gaite lyrique.
