Since their formation in New Jersey in the 1960s, Kool & The Gang – featuring brothers Robert “Kool” Bell and Ronald Bell – have unleashed a generational catalogue of hits into the world, including Ladies’ Night, Jungle Boogie, and their Billboard Hot 100 #1 single and Grammy Hall of Fame-inducted classic, Celebration.
Their music has been everywhere, from soundtracking the opening of Pulp Fiction, to becoming the most sampled R&B music act of all time, with acts such as Madonna, Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Nas, The Prodigy, Aaliyah, and many others utilising Kool & The Gang tunes in their music.
The band are two-time Grammy Award winners, seven-time American Music Award winners, and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
Meanwhile, Sister Sledge ft. Sledgendary are known as R&B and disco icons. Debbie Sledge leads the group, which is now home to the next generation of the family: Camille, David and Thaddeus Sledge, as well as Tanya Ti-et.
Recognised for global, multi-Platinum hits such as He’s the Greatest Dancer, Thinking of You, Lost in Music, and their Grammy Hall of Fame-inducted single, We Are Family, Sister Sledge rose to fame in the height of the 1970s disco era, which is essential to their live shows.
