Kiwi Upstart Aldous Harding Announces Debut Release Date And Aussie Tour

She'll play five dates in July in the run-up to the album's launch

More Aldous Harding Aldous Harding

Folk chanteuse and Christchurch native Aldous Harding has announced that her keenly awaited self-titled debut full-length will be released on July 25 via Spunk Records, preceded by an Australian tour earlier in the month to celebrate.

A fixture of the bars that adorn the seaside port of Lyttelton, the sugar-voiced Harding has been steadily garnering a reputation for the sorts of soul-searching sweetness and serenity that have made many a bearded manly man sob into his beer in a darkened pub corner or two.

Hear her dulcet tones for yourself right here:

To celebrate her debut's release, Harding will be crossing the ditch for a five-date run of shows, joined by guitarist and backing vocalist Simon Gregory.

That will kick off at Brisbane's Black Bear Lodge on Tuesday, July 1, before heading to Sydney and Melbourne for two shows apiece respectively on July 2 and 3, and July 6 and 8. The second Sydney show (at Midnight Special) and first Melbourne show (Public Bar) are free.

During the tour, she'll be providing support for fellow ascendent Kiwis and labelmates Tiny Ruins, who released their second album, Brightly Painted One, back in May.
