And they wanna say "howdy!"

One of Victoria's brightest, up-and-coming pop-rock bands will join forces with one of New South Wales' brightest, up-and-coming pop-rock bands to have a ball at a bunch of shows all the way down the East Coast late-this month and all of November.

Melbourne's Kite Club and Sydney's High Tails are set to embark on their tour of their respective states and Queensland for the Howdy tour, appropriately saying hello to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong, beginning in a few weeks.

Kite Club have just unveiled their shining, pop single Jupiter Smiling bringing back memories of The Sleepy Jackson and ELO, leading to the release their debut record Fresh Air For Humans, produced by Jean-Paul Fung – of Last Dinosaurs and Glass Towers fame – set for release in 2014.

Have a listen to Jupiter Smiling.

Likewise, Sydney's High Tails have just dropped debut single Maps, channeling Real Estate and The Go-Betweens, picking up a fair amount of airplay while they finish up recording their first EP.

Check out a stream of Maps that we featured a little while ago.

The two will be getting to know each other a little bit better and are keen to say “howdy” to a few new fans along the way – the all the dates in theGuide.
