King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have taken out the prize for Best Music Video at this year's SoundKILDA music video competition for their wonderfully batshit clip for their tune People-Vultures, directed by Danny Cohen and Jason Galea.

The many-membered psych-lords were joined on the victors' list by dual prize-winner Millington, whose Darcy Prendergast and Josh Thomas-directed Being nabbed both the Audience Award and Best Editing Award, as well as Sage Francis (Craft Award, Dead Man's Float, directed by David Karacic), Life Is Better Blonde (Best Cinematography Award, Fires, directed by Natalie Erika James and Ben Morgan) and RÜFÜS, who picked up the judges' commendation for Be With You, directed by Daniel Daperis and Jared Daperis.

The winners emerged from a finalists' field of a particularly high calibre, which included nominations for the likes of Courtney Barnett, Client Liaison, Lisa Mitchell, Dan Sultan, Ball Park Music and more.

Held as part of the wider St Kilda Film Festival — which runs until tomorrow, 27 May — SoundKILDA also included the screening of finalist entries for the Love Live Music 60-second short film competition, from among whom Best Short Film was bestowed on Eloise Boutry for her piece Exodus, featuring Josh Reeves.

"SoundKILDA showcases some of the best creative collaborations across music and film, continually pushing boundaries and breaking glass ceilings with concepts, technology and storytelling," St Kilda Film Festival director Paul Harris said in a statement. "We are incredibly proud to be able to showcase and recognise these artists and filmmakers each year."
