Kim Gordon Cancels Upcoming Australian Appearances Due To "Health Reasons"

Gordon was scheduled to appear in Sydney and Melbourne.

US artist Kim Gordon has cancelled her upcoming Australian appearances.

Gordon, who's best known for her work with Sonic Youth, was due to appear at the Sydney Opera House's Antidote 2019 festival as the headliner on 31 August, where she was due to sit down for an in-conversation session with Double J's Myf Warhurst.

She was then expected at the Melbourne Writers Festival on 1 September to discuss her work as a musician, writer, visual artist and designer.

In a statement to The Sydney Morning Herald, a spokesperson for the Sydney Opera House has cited "health reasons" for the cancellation.

Gordon is yet to comment on the cancellation. The Music has reached out to both the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Writers Festival for comment.
