“I am really looking forward for this group of people to get together."

Local legends Kate Miller-Heidke and Eddie Perfect are heading to the Gold Coast to collaborate with some of Australia's brightest acts, including some BIGSOUND 2019 acts ahead of the next week's conference.

Starting today through to Sunday in support of the Gold Coast SongHubs APRA AMCOS collaboration, Miller-Heidke, Perfect and Nashville songwriter Ingrid Andress (Alicia Keys, Charlie XCX) will work with BIGSOUND acts Jaguar Jonze, Tobacco Rat, BOI, Louis Baker, Luboku and Mickey Kojack, as well as Gold Coast artists including Asha Jeffereries, Brad Hosking, San Mei, Ruka Hanlon and Ella Fence.

At the helm of Gold Coast SongHubs is Berlin-based Tobias Kuhn who will assign a different group of three to write, produce and record a song by the close of business.

“I am really looking forward for this group of people to get together," Kuhn said.

"In the studio, we’ll have artists, producers and writers from many different musical directions collaborating – the potential is all there for some amazing songs to be created in a really supportive setting."

Perfect's return to Australia comes only months after the Melbourne-born musician and actor scored a Tony nomination for Best Original Score with the Broadway production of Beetlejuice, which he wrote the music and lyrics for.
