Julia Jacklin, Trials, Lisa Mitchell & More Awarded Australia Council Grants

The Australia Council Of The Arts has announced its latest grant recipients today. 

Among the recipients are prominent local musicians Julia Jacklin (awarded $30,290), Trials ($36,750), Haiku Hands' Beatrice Lewis ($28,840), Eilish Gilligan ($10,000), Lisa Mitchell ($13,200), Katie Noonan ($48,070), Mia Dyson ($25,000) and Garrett Kato ($10,856). 

Producer Anna Laverty has been awarded the $80,000 Australia Council Fellowship which aims to "to support creative activity and professional development for a period of up to two years", while Queensland Music Festival received $98,888 and Melbourne Digital Concert Hall received $100,000. 


“We are delighted to see so many successful projects engaging young people and their families, particularly as our recent research showed Australians’ top priority for arts investment was ensuring access to the arts and creative experiences for young people," said executive director, arts investment, Alice Nash.

“In addition to delivering numerous public benefits, the range of activity supported through this investment demonstrates the ingenuity of artists and organisations in adapting their work in the context of COVID-19. 

"Creativity has and will continue to play a crucial role in connecting Australians and strengthening our culture and economy."
