Singer, rapper and disc jockey Jovanotti – aka Lorenzo Cherubini – will make his Australian debut this March, locking in an appearance at WOMADelaide and an exclusive performance at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre.

Recognised as one of Italy’s most influential and visionary artists, Jovanotti’s career has continually redefined contemporary music. No matter how he performs, he’s secured his reputation as a cultural icon.

Jovanotti emerged in the late 1980s as one of Italy’s first hip-hop DJs and MCs. Having worked with the likes of the Beastie Boys, Run-D.M.C., and Public Enemy, he brought a Mediterranean feel to their rock and hip-hop beats, respectively.

The star’s one-off Brisbane show will take place at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre on Thursday, 5 March. Tickets are available now on the QPAC website.

Across his decades-long career, Jovanotti has taken his music through funk, rap, and world music, as well as experience as a singer-songwriter. With a distinctly Italian voice, his lyrics are often a fusion of poetry, joy, and social consciousness, inspiring generations with his emotionally resonant messages of love and peace.

Jovanotti has released 16 studio albums, three compilations, four live albums, and amassed awards including Gold, Platinum, and Diamond records, all contributing to his reputation as one of the most influential and beloved artists in Italian music.

In addition to working with the hip-hop icons mentioned above, Jovanotti has collaborated with Italian and international artists such as Ben Harper, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Gianna Nannini, Pino Daniele, Luciano Ligabue and Piero Pelù.

His most recent album, Il corpo umano Vol. 1, was released in January 2025. It debuted at #1 in Italy and #8 in Switzerland and has already been certified Gold in Italy.

While in Australia, Jovanotti will appear on this year’s WOMADelaide line-up alongside Grace Jones, BADBADNOTGOOD, Baker Boy, Ganavya, Kankawa Nagarra, Troy Cassar-Daley, and many others.
