John Butler TrioAussie music icons John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins have teamed up for what is set to be the tour of the summer.
Heading out on the road next January and February, the two treasured singer-songwriters will also be bringing Stella Donnelly along for the ride to play all shows bar Albany and Margaret River, while Baker Boy will also be performing at the final show in Hobart. Dan Sultan will be joining the tour for a number of shows in Melbourne, Rutherglen and the Hunter Valley while The Teskey Brothers will perform in Coffs Harbour.
The Coming Home tour is named for John Butler Trio's forthcoming album, Home, of which Butler said, "This album is my most personal work yet and it feels like taking it on the road to connect with fans directly is the final act of delivering this body of work."
“This album touches on the anxieties and demons I’ve been grappling with since the last album, but it’s also full of joy, hope and redemption, and I’m looking forward to conveying the stories and passion of all of this journey one on one live with fans.”
Higgins was similarly excited about the tour saying, “It will be so good to get out of the house and get back on the road alongside John and his band."
“I have great memories of all those gigs I did with him when I was first starting out and it will be great to play some really special venues together again after all these years."
Tickets for all the shows go on sale next Friday 21 September with a 24-hour pre-sale running from 19 September. Scroll down for more details.
UPDATE: The Teskey Brothers will now also join John Butler at Riverstage on February 22.
