The Eagle & The Worm drummer has a new album on the way

Hot on the heels of a most successful launch for Melburnian outfit New Gods and their new album Beloved at the Shadow Electric last week, Barely Dressed and Remote Control Records have announced that they have consequently signed fellow Melbourne-based muso Jim Lawrie, of Eagle & The Worm fame, ahead of the February release of sophomore LP EONS.

In celebration of the deal, Lawrie has made available (via Bandcamp) two tracks from the forthcoming full-length, Just Like Normal and Midnight Run. Those who are familiar with the man's earlier work will no doubt pick up on a more mature, exploratory sound than that to which they are accustomed, but provides a candid look at what to expect from the troubadour across the wider spread of album tracks.

Of course, it's not all news on the recorded front - Lawrie has a slew of festival spots to knock out in the dying stages of this year and early days of next as part of the Falls and Southbound festival line-up. He makes his way from Lorne to Marion Bay to Tasmania for the three iterations of Falls between Tuesday, December 30, and Thursday, January 1, moving on to Busselton, WA, to play at the Southbound festival on Sunday, January 4.
