Jet have announced a one-off warm-up show at The Night Cat in Fitzroy ahead of their Get Born 20th Anniversary Tour in September.
It’s an intimate gig for the rockers, with The Night Cat holding 475 punters. For context on how small that is for Jet, the band’s sold-out concert at the Forum in Melbourne’s CBD just two days later holds up to 2,000 standing attendees.
The first fans in the country can watch Jet play Get Born in its entirety at The Night Cat on Wednesday, 20 September, with special guests Neon Goblin opening the show.

Tickets for the one-off show go on sale today (18 August) at 11 am AEST. You can find tickets on the Live Nation Australia website.
After their Night Cat warm-up show, Jet will play Get Born on 22 September at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, followed by Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide, on 23 September, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on 29 September and conclude at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on 30 September.
While their Forum gig is sold-out, you can find tickets to the remainder of Jet’s Get Born Australian tour here.
Bassist Mark Wilson said about the Get Born tour in June, “I don’t remember much about the actual day Get Born was released. I think we were in Pittsburgh. I’m sure we celebrated, but to be honest, we celebrated every night back in those days. 2003 was one big blurry haze for me.”
If 2003 was a blurry haze for you, too, here’s a refresher: Get Born was absolutely massive in Australia. The album saw Jet score six ARIA Awards and was certified nine times platinum in their home country, making it one of the top five highest-selling Australian rock albums of all time.
Vocalist Nic Cester added, “Get Born was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle.”
