Jenny Morris has become new Chair of APRA after Mike Perjanik resigned from the position after the performing right society's annual general meeting today.
Perjanik, who's been a non-executive Writer Director since 1985 and whose company was recently producing music for Home & Away, will remain on the board as a non-executive director. Successful ARIA Award-winning musician and vocalist Morris has become the first new chair of APRA in over two decades. Mushroom's Ian James was returned as Deputy Chair.
New Zealand-born, Morris was awarded the Order Of Australia in 2010. Still an active performer, she won back-to-back ARIA Awards for Best Female Artist in 1987 and '88.
Perjank's resignation came at the APRA board meeting following the AGM, where Morris, Don McGlashan, Bob Aird and Matthew Caper were returned to the Board Of Writer Directors.
Kobalt's Simon Moor became AMCOS' newest Director as he was elected to the board alongside David Albert and Phillip Walker to fill three vacancies.
Ian James was returned as AMCOS Chair and Matthew Donlevy as Deputy Chair at the AMCOS board meeting following the AGM.
