Having already postponed her Melbourne and Sydney shows due to illness, American singer Janelle Monáe has cancelled her remaining Australian tour dates.

Monáe was set to hit Brisbane tomorrow and Melbourne on Monday with Kimbra as part of the Golden Electric tour.

“It has been confirmed that the remainder of the Golden Electric tour has been cancelled and there will be no rescheduled performances,” promoters Live Nation said via Facebook.

UPDATE: Live Nation has issued a statement regarding the cancellation, which conveys Monáe's disappointment at not being able to complete her tour, as well as providing ticket-holders with information regarding refunds.

"Ms Monáe is devastated at not being able to perform for her fans and has vowed to return to our shores in
the not-too-distant future," the statement said.

"Ticket holders will be contacted by the relevant ticketing outlet to advise of the process for obtaining a refund."
