More James Bay More James Bay

Acclaimed UK troubadour James Bay is kicking off 2015 with the road untravelled, announcing his first-ever shows Down Under with a pair of appearances in Sydney and Melbourne slated for early next year.

The renowned rock/folk/soul man touches down in Sydney on Monday, February 2, where he'll play The Basement, before heading southwards to Melbourne, to play the Northcote Social Club, on Wednesday, February 4.

It's been just over a year and a half since Bay released his debut EP, The Dark Of The Morning, with second EP Let It Go coming earlier this year and building on the already bubbling hype surrounding the young musician in the wake of earlier head-turners such as Move Together and When We Were On Fire. He couldn't even wait for the year to elapse before releasing third EP Hold Back The River, which dropped a mere five months after his previous release, rocketing straight to #1 on the UK iTunes chart, and yielded praise from BBC tastemaker Zane Lowe for its 'single of the week'-worthy title track. All that — not to mention a raft of support slots for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Kodaline, John Newman and Tom Odell — before his 25th birthday? You'd be a fool to miss the show.

Frontier Members will be able to secure their tickets through a pre-sale from 12pm (AEDT) on Tuesday, December 16, until 12pm (AEDT) the following day, or until allocation is exhausted. General-release tickets will be up for grabs from 10am (AEDT) on Thursday, December 18.
