Not a bad way to kick off a tour...
At his hometown gig at Detroit's Masonic Temple Theatre, Jack White proposed to partner Olivia Jean.
Kicking off the Supply Chain Issues Tour, the show was on the 8th of April, coinciding with the release of White's new solo record Fear Of The Dawn.
White performed a duet of White Stripes' song Hotel Yorba alongside Jean, in which he used the lyric, "let's get married" as a segue to propose to her on stage.
Jean responded with a 'yes', and the duo were married on stage with a ceremony officiated by Third Man Records co-founder Ben Swank. Jean's father was also on stage.
White's new record Fear Of Dawn is the first of the pair of releases he has promised for 2022. Its follow up, Entering Heaven Alive, is set for release on the 22nd of July.
Following her transition into her solo career following the Black Belles, Jean began her solo project via a self-titled debut record in 2011. Most recently, she released her critically acclaimed Night Owl in 2019.
