INXS have claimed a pretty impressive record today with their album The Very Best claiming a massive milestone on the ARIA Albums Chart.
The 2011 released compilation from the much-loved Australian outfit has made history after spending nine years - a total of 468 non-consecutive weeks - in the chart's Top 100, more than any other album in the current Top 100.
"Huge congratulations are in order for INXS, Petrol and UMG after achieving the ARIA Diamond Award for The Very Best," said ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd of the achievement.
"It comes as no surprise that the pinnacle of record accreditation has been achieved by one of the country’s most adored and iconic acts. On behalf of ARIA, and as a lifelong fan, I want to thank INXS for their immense contribution to Australian music and their significant role in skyrocketing our industry’s recognition on the global stage."

Across its nine year run, the album has enjoyed seven weeks in the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart, as well as taking out the title of the best selling album in 2014 following the release of the Never Tear Us Apart INXS biopic TV series which resulted in six INXS hitting the Top 10 in one week.
