Channel Seven's 'Never Tear Us Apart' event has yielded six separate nominations
Acclaimed Channel Seven miniseries INXS: Never Tear Us Apart has come away with an armload of nominations for this years Logie Awards, being announced directly or indirectly in six categories today.
Central heartthrob Luke Arnold helped garner a few of those nods, picking up nominations for Most Popular Actor and Most Outstanding Actor, while his co-stars Samantha Jade and Laura Brent were both named as in the running for Most Popular New Talent, the latter also for her work in ABC's ANZAC Girls.
Arnold will have to fend off Chris Lilley, Craig McLachlan, Josh Thomas and Stephen Peacocke for the Most Popular title, while his Most Outstanding contemporaries come from generally more experienced stock — Richard Roxburgh, Martin Henderson, John Noble and Ashley Zukerman fill out the bracket for that award.
Like ANZAC Girls, Never Tear Us Apart itself — which was also nominated for several AACTA Awards late last year — is also nominated for Most Outstanding Miniseries Or Telemovie, while its final nomination comes from the broader Most Popular Drama Program category, where it faces off against shows such as Home & Away, House Husbands, Love Child and Offspring.

The Never Tear Us Apart ensemble's efforts weren't quite enough to break through to Gold Logie territory, however; somehow, both Hamish and Andy have been nominated for that award this year, with further nods going to Asher Keddie, Carrie Bickmore, Scott Cam and Stephen Peacocke.
The full list of nominees is available here. This year's Logies will be held in Melbourne on Sunday, 3 May, and feature performances from international drawcards Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor.
